People's Republic of Bangladesh is a country in South Asia. It was independent in 1971. It is bordered by India on all sides except for a small border with Burma (Myanmar) to the far southeast and by the Bay of Bengal to the south. Together with the Indian state of West Bengal, it makes up the ethno-linguistic region of Bengal. It has the longest unbroken sea beach in the world in the Cox's Bazaar.
The Bangladesh national cricket team is representing Bangladesh cricket team. It has been management by BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) significantly. BCB established in 1972. In the year 1975-76 Bangladesh organized domestic cricket seasons under the BCB and it was successfully completed that year. An official of BCB name Mr. Rezaul Karim apple to the ICC to get membership of ICC.In replying ICC to BCB to invite the Marelybone Cricket Club (MCC) to play a match between BCB and MCC in Dhaka. The MCC arrives at Dhaka for their first Bangladesh tour on December 27, 1976. 7 January 1977 was a milestone of Bangladesh cricket, as the visiting MCC took on the host in an unofficial three day game, beginning the long journey to becoming a leading international cricket nation. Around 40,000 viewers present and enjoy. After completion a successful match MCC's give a post-tour report to the ICC about Bangladesh Cricket. It is help to get ICC membership. On July 26, 1977, Bangladesh becomes an Associate member of the International Cricket Council (I.C.C.) Hence; Bangladesh is a full member of the International Cricket Council with Test and One Day International (ODI) status. It played its first Test match in 2000 against India in Dhaka, as becoming the tenth Test cricket playing nation. Bangladesh wins the Sixth ICC trophy in Malaysia in 1997. Bangladesh also becomes a regular ICC member with the right to play One Day Internationals. In 1999 Bangladesh participated in the 7th Cricket World Cup in England. In a group match, Bangladesh defeats Pakistan ever first time.

- Mohammad Ashraful became youngest test centurion against Sri Lanka the age of 16 years and 364 days.
- Enamul Haque Jr. became the youngest to take 12 wickets in a match at the age of 18 years and four days against Zimbabwe.
- Alrounder Shakib Al Hasan became the number one all-rounder in the world in the Reliance ICC Ranking from January 22, 2009 and his since kept his place at the top.
